Specialized and Project Cargo Logistics

Global Logistic Planners (GLP), Lahore and Karachi

Engineered logistics for heavy-lift, oversized, sensitive and high-value cargo.

Heavy-lift crane positioning large project cargo at a site

Overview

Some shipments are one-off movements where a mistake is expensive. GLP treats these as small projects: assess the cargo, survey the route, agree a handling plan, and coordinate each party involved.

Specialized cargo can be planned for import, export and domestic movement. Each project is assessed individually before commitments are made.

Key benefits

  • Route and handling reviewed before cargo moves
  • Risk points identified and discussed early
  • Coordination of cranes, escorts, permits and transport
  • Documentation prepared for multiple stakeholders

Available options

  • Project cargo planning
  • Heavy-lift and oversized cargo
  • Sensitive equipment handling
  • High-value cargo movement
  • Route surveys
  • Lifting and handling plans

Suitable cargo

  • Power and energy equipment
  • Industrial plant components
  • Laboratory and medical equipment
  • Large fabricated structures
  • High-value or fragile machinery

How the service works

  1. Describe the cargo, origin, destination and site conditions.

  2. GLP assesses constraints and recommends a route and handling method.

  3. Permits, equipment, escorts and carriers are lined up.

  4. Cargo is moved under supervision and handed over at site.

Information and documents required

  • Technical drawings and specifications
  • Weight, dimensions and lifting points
  • Site access and unloading details
  • Permits for oversized movement
  • Insurance and valuation details

Safety and compliance

Heavy-lift and oversized moves need qualified equipment and operators, and often government permits. GLP coordinates these but will not proceed where requirements cannot be met safely.

Frequently asked questions

Do you carry out route surveys?

Route review is part of project planning, including bridges, turns, clearances and site access.

How early should we contact you?

As soon as the shipment is confirmed. Permits and equipment can take longer than transport itself.

Can you protect sensitive equipment?

We plan packing, handling and transport conditions with you, based on the maker’s requirements.
